Food Preservation 201: Making Sauerkraut and the Basics of Fermentation

This is the second class in our 2-class series on basic canning and food fermentation, led by Orange Country Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences, Ivelisse Colon Diaz. You must attend Food Preservation101: Basic Canning in order to take Food Preservation 201.  Enjoy this hands-on sauerkraut-making session and learn about the origins of food fermentation, the science behind how it happens, and the potential health benefits it can bring to your way of eating. See and experience how you can turn cabbage into the piquant, sour deliciousness we love serving with hot dogs and other dishes. Registration closes November 12th, 2019 and class is subject to cancellation if class minimum of 5 attendees is not met. Class maximum is 8, and we think these spaces will fill pretty quickly, so if you are interested in learning to ferment sauerkraut and other foods, you should register for these two classes sooner rather than later!
