      9/11 Day of Service 2019 Evening Commemoration + Service Projects

      Join fellow community members on Wednesday, September 11 at 6 PM at Marbles Kids Museum for the 9/11 Day of Service Evening Commemoration coordinated by Activate Good with support from Triangle area businesses and nonprofit partners. Participate in hands-on, family-friendly service projects, enjoy refreshments, and hear words from local community leaders and Activate Good to wrap up this eighth annual community-wide day of service. There is no cost to attend this event, but guests are asks to bring a non-perishable food item to help 'fill-the-truck' for the Urban Ministries of Wake County food pantry: Breakfast items (The most needed item!), Pasta, Pasta Sauce (no glass, please), Can Vegetables, Can Tomatoes, Can Beans, Can Tuna, Can Chicken.  Low-sodium and low-sugar is ideal! Service Project Line-Up at the Evening Commemoration Donate healthy food and sort / package food to fill the truck for Urban Ministries of Wake County Write letters to the troops Assemble awareness raising kits for the Never Forget 9-11 Foundation Baffles and cards for families with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County Sort clothing for kids in need with Note in the Pocket Assemble skin cancer awareness kits with Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation Assemble literacy kits with Helps Education Fund Hygiene kits for folks in need with Passage Home Bright boxes for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wake County Blankets and cards for kids in the hospital with Zach's Toy Chest   Parking Guests are welcome to park in one of the multiple parking decks or street spaces near Marbles Kids Museum. Please be advised that some parking decks and spaces may cost money.
