Host a Dinner at Women's Center of Wake County

Host a DINNER at Women's Center of Wake County: The Women's Center of Wake County is a multi-service day shelter/resource center, located near downtown Raleigh, with the mission of preventing and ending homelessness for women and their families. Each day, homeless women come to the Women's Center seeking safety, food, day shelter, clothing, toiletries, medical care, behavioral and mental health care and more. We serve dinner Tuesday - Friday at 5:30 pm for up to 25-35 women who might otherwise go hungry. You can help by providing a healthy dinner for women who need it most. Volunteer(s) would need to arrive at 5:15 pm to set up and dinner will begin at 5:30pm. We serve 25-35 women each day at the shelter, so please prepare for 35 and know that there may be days with leftovers. These leftovers will be served to women the following day. We do not have a stove/oven on site. We do have a small kitchen were items may be cut or microwaved. But, it is best to bring prepared food in containers ready to serve and heated, if necessary. Supervised children over 12 are welcome. Please limit volunteers group size to no more than 12, but 2-8 is usually best for our room size.
